Booyah! (check it out!)
Apple’s Logic Studio has been released. Taking a cue (no pun intended) from the Final Cut Studio suite, it is now released as a suite of applications including:
-Logic Pro 8
-Mainstage
-Soundtrack 2 Pro (thank god audio people no longer have to buy a film package to get it!)
Seemingly everything in Logic has been given a refresh. I won’t rehash everything, but let’s say that I’m fine using Logic instead of Protools now.
Here’s what did NOT happen, contrary to the rumor-mill:
-It’s not Intel only, you can run it on a G4!
-It’s not 10.5 only! It recommends 10.4, but you might be able to get away with older
-The Environment is NOT gone.
-It is backwards compatable
-TDM support is not gone.
I was really getting pissed off by these stupid rumors that people were spreading, which were obviously lies and falsifications. Screw them, I’ve got Logic Pro the way I wanted it now.
I’ll be ordering soon, and posting a few review then.
One huge thing to note, is that the price has dropped dramatically. I’m sure this reflects a shift from emagic to Apple moreso, as Apple makes most of their cash on hardware, not software sales.
