IE6 Needs to Die

Asides from the fact that no one, and I mean no one, should be running Microsoft’s Internet Explore regardless of version there should be no reason that anyone is running IE6.

Microsoft released IE6 on August 27, 2001. How much other pre-9/11 software are you running on your computer? I’m pretty sure that my computer doesn’t contain a single file from that era, let alone a program that I’m running. The public beta of IE7 (which is marginally better and actually doesn’t screw up CSS totally) was released July 2005, and the first full public release was October 18, 2006. It’s been over two years since IE7 was released to the public. Do some morons not update their software that infrequently?

Mozilla supports versions of Firefox for 6 months after the major release of a new version (End-of-life cycle). No one is expected to code a site for Firefox 1.0. Yet, clients still persist and want IE6 support. Yes, and I want to be able to run OS 9 Applications on Tiger, but it ain’t happening.

Is anyone supporting Opera 6 for all of their site builds? It was released only shortly after IE6.
