Vimobot/mimobots taking over the Betahouse

Apparently the Vimobots like coworking too. And of course, an homage to lolsaurs. I got my vimobot @ Podcamp Boston! Rock on.
Be sure to check them out at MimoBot.com

I was giving the new Mail client a shot, since gmail is offering imap services now. However, I think I’m going back to gmail. For some reason Google is still faster at searching an entire inbox well (plus archives) than Apple’s Leopard Mail client. I don’t have any solid numbers (I suppose I could always benchmark) but let’s just say that Gmail still is the fastest way to find anything in your email.
I met a rather interesting person the other day who had registered and was pushing the US Centrist Party.
First of all, it’s a party that actually makes sense. It points out that most of the people are in the middle, and that we have problems. It comes up with the dashingly simple idea that we should actually try to shoot for what works for MOST people and what actually makes sense for the people. It’s like Ron Paul, but without Digg.
They aren’t running a candidate in 08, but might be someone to watch. Pretty much everything he said made sense, which I can’t say for either side of the aisle right now.

Oh, and they are running Plone to power their website. The first (and only) political party that I know of thats doing so.
It is possible for Stephen Colbert to win in 2008, by only carrying South Carolina.
It is however dependent on two things:
First, he must win all 8 electoral college votes in South Carolina. With the massive power of his Facebook group and following, this is possible.
Second, no more than 7 electoral college votes nationwide can be can for any other candidate. Electoral college voters aren’t bound to vote for who the people vote for, so they must all either write in Colbert, or simple abstain from voting. If we can convince all of them NOT to vote (convincing Americans not to vote isn’t hard, just put on American Idol that night) except for the Electoral College members in South Carolina… then Colbert has it.
It’s that easy. Just send the Electoral College voters take-out food, and put on new episodes of TV shows like American Idol, House and CSI and Colbert will win.
On my personal gmail account, I still don’t have imap. They are still taking some time to finish rolling it out, and I’m guessing some of the older accounts are getting done last. My Jazkarta account was almost immediate, but I’m still waiting for my personal account. They said hopefully by the end of the week. Crossing my fingers.
Hopefully my Treo will sync better then. Right now it’s nearly useless.
